Federal Equalisation of Burdens Office

The Federal Equalisation of Burdens Office is a higher federal authority within the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Finance. It is responsible in administrative, legal and financial terms for the “equalisation of burdens”, the Federal Republic of Germany’s unique system of solidarity-based compensation aimed at dealing with burdens resulting from the war.
