Federal Offices
The Federal Office for Central Services and Unresolved Property Issues (BADV) was established in 2006 as a higher federal authority within the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community. The agency has a range of functions and employs around 300 staff at 11 locations.
Our focus is on reclaiming payments made under the Equalisation of Burdens Act in cases where restitution or compensation has subsequently taken place.
We deal with applications relating to illegal seizures of property during the National Socialist period.
These losses are compensated for by returning the property to the rightful owners or through financial compensation.
